Site-specific artwork—regardless of the medium (sound, dance, sculpture, etc.)—takes the ‘living environment’ where it is to be performed or experienced into consideration as part of the iteration process. The location is as much a part of the work as the work that is being created. This workshop, facilitated by Sharon McCaman, Helen French, and invited guests, will engage artists in ways of thinking about and creating site specific work. There will be a variety of opportunities for artists to explore creating work in response to the ‘living environments’ found in and around the Creative Pinellas Gallery. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their work in an informal showing at the close of the workshop.
